In Zhongdian (a.k.a. Shangri-La), China, my sister and I were riding around on a scooter in the middle of nowhere and got hungry so we stopped in this Tibetan village and asked if there was anywhere to eat. No such luck, but the villager pointed us to a house. The woman of the household invited us in and we spent the afternoon drinking butter tea (more like forcing it down our throats - I don't recommend it), eating some kind of delicious bread that she made and trying to communicate with her.
