An awesome place I've visited:
Most recently, the Douro Valley in Portugal. Last year, Chile from top to bottom. But basically, anywhere wine is made is pretty terrific.
My perfect Sunday:
sleep, coffee in Europe, afternoon wine in the sun, dinner somewhere moody and no clock ticking

Born in the city, grew up on a farm, graduated high school in a class of 13, escaped back to the city ASAP and never left. Lived two years in Italy. Have had at least three careers, two major loves (three, if you include Italy) and a few crushes in between. Now, I drink wine and travel for a living ... when I'm not a reporter in my own town.

Obscure knowledge I possess:
I can say "where are the archaeological digs" in Italian. I know the soil content of Bordeaux wine regions. That pretty much sums me up, I think.

fulfilled and grateful.
If I won the lottery and quit my job, I would:
Be at the airport with my passport and a one-way ticket.
